FIRE Calculator — Financial Independence, Retire Early Planner | Panor
Selfie FIRE is a free browser-based Financial Independence, Retire Early calculator from Panoramic Intelligence. It helps you model when you can stop working based on your current savings, monthly contributions, expected investment returns, inflation, and target annual spending in retirement.
Who it is for
Early-career professionals planning their savings rate, expats and digital nomads modelling cross-currency retirement scenarios, and FIRE-community readers who want quick what-if comparisons without spreadsheets.
What you can model
- Coast FIRE — when your invested portfolio can grow to your number without further contributions.
- Lean / Fat FIRE — adjust target annual spending from minimalist to comfortable lifestyles.
- Barista FIRE — partial retirement with reduced part-time income covering health insurance.
- Geo-arbitrage — set retirement-country cost of living separately from accumulation country.
- Sequence-of-returns risk — Monte-Carlo simulation across historical equity return distributions.
- Safe withdrawal rate — toggle 3.0% to 4.5% SWR and see portfolio-survival probability over 30/40/50 year horizons.
How the math works
The calculator uses standard compound-growth formulas with annual contribution and inflation adjustments. Monte-Carlo runs sample real returns from a user-selectable distribution (S&P 500 1928–2024 by default) to estimate failure probability of your withdrawal plan. All math runs in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
