Casefile: real historical cases, not judgments about faces
Casefile is a free educational photo quiz from Panoramic Intelligence. Each round presents a real archival photograph without a name or clue. The same question asks what crime the pictured person was convicted of, and the player chooses from four offenses. Only after answering does the game reveal the identity, documented answer, explanation, and source. The photo alone cannot prove criminality. The bank covers selected historical cases, each with a real licensed photograph and a bilingual source-backed answer. It is a small editorial selection, not a representative sample or a crime statistics dataset.
Classic mode offers ten questions without a timer. The optional sixty-second challenge uses a shuffled question bank with no repeated case during a run. Correct answers earn points and consecutive correct answers earn a capped bonus. Wrong answers receive an explanation, and the final review includes links to the underlying sources. Explanations distinguish convictions from allegations, civil proceedings, and later pardons.
Photographs are real images obtained from Wikimedia Commons, with public-domain or Creative Commons attribution supplied in the source panel. References include public agency records and clearly named secondary accounts. Each historical record carries its own source-check date; this is not a live court-status service. Scores stay in the current browser session and no account is required. JavaScript is necessary to play. Please enable it, or explore more products on the Panor homepage.
